211th Annual Meeting and Lunch
on Sunday, May 21
    All are welcome and encouraged to come to the Annual Meeting of First Congregational Church on Sunday, May 21.  Annual Meeting activities will begin during the 10 a.m. worship service (no 8 a.m. worship on 5/21)  including the sermon – “State of the Church”- offered by Rev. Carrie Bail, memorial remembrances, and the celebration of those who have been members for 50 years or more!  There will be a luncheon in the dining room following the 10 a.m. worship with a main dish, ham and a vegetarian option provided.
All who are able to help with the meal are asked to bring a salad, side dish or dessert to share – thank you!
Childcare will be provided during the business meeting portion scheduled from noon to 2 p.m.

Warning: Pursuant to Articles VII and X, Sections 2, 4 and 5 of the BY-LAWS OF THE FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, Burlington, Vermont:
The Annual Meeting of the Congregation will be held at 12:00 noon on Sunday May 21, 2017 for the purpose of electing all officers, boards and committees, voting to accept the budget for fiscal year 2017-2018 as presented by the Board of Trustees, and any other business which may properly come before the members assembled.

Newly added “warned” agenda item from our May 9 Trustee Meeting:
Warning:  In accordance with Articles X, Section 2, 4, 5; and XII of the by laws of THE FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, BURLINGTON VERMONT, the following amendment to the by-laws will be considered at the Annual Meeting on Sunday May 21, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the church dining room.Sections 3 and 4 of this Article VIII are suspended effective May 29, 2014 and the following interim Sections 3 and 4 are added.  The suspension shall be in effect until (formerly set at May 31, 2017) October 21, 2017.  however, the suspension and this amendment shall remain subject to modification before that date.
