Two major events in Vermont to bring awareness to climate change and social justice issues:
- On May 1st, the Vermont Worker Center, in partnership with 350VT and dozens of social and climate justice groups, will stage the first “Put People First: One Movement for People & the Planet” march and rally in Montpelier. More info: May 1st March & Rally here (and on Facebook here).
- On May 5th, people and organizations from across the state will join a 350.org global day of action. We’ll be calling the world’s attention to local climate change impacts in Vermont, and converging en masse for a forum and “Connect the Dots” rally in Waitsfield. More info: May 5th “Connect the Dots” event here (and on Facebook here).
Bill McKibben will speak at both of these events! Increasingly, at least in Vermont, climate change is recognized as both an epic threat to our global future and a pressing call to fix the flaws in our struggling democracy. Vermonters are more energized than ever to come together as one movement on May 1st & 5th.
