Opportunities to share Fellowship & Conversation

CONGREGATION “KITCHEN TABLE” CONVERSATION.  On Sunday February 17th, we will gather for another “kitchen table” conversation after worship, at 11:30 a.m. in the dining room.  (Child-care will be available) We imagine it to be a bit like a family conversations around the kitchen table where we can share plans and talk things over together.

We will talk together in more depth about the initiatives which are helping us be a more vibrant and faith-filled congregation. We’ll also open up the conversation about the budget for the 2013/2014 fiscal year, as together we learn how we can support and grow the ministry of First Congregational Church.  This will be a great time to ask questions and share ideas, and the conversation will prepare the way for the upcoming Person-to-Person Stewardship Campaign.  Once the campaign is complete (in May) we will gather again to vote on a budget that matches our expenses with our income.

MEN’S BREAKFAST.  All men are invited to the monthly Men’s Breakfast! Please consider joining us on Tuesday, February 19th at 7:00 a.m. You can sign up in the red pew register or call the Church Office, 862-5010.

FRIENDS AT FIRST.  A new work group, known as Friends at First, has begun meeting to address the many facets of our caring ministry for all ages at First Congregational Church. Many ideas are on the table for consideration and those interested in contributing are welcome to attend. The next Friends at First meeting is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20th, at the Church.  For more information please contact Peter Cook at 802-862-5010 ext.110; [email protected]

COTTAGE MEETINGS.  Conversations with the Rev. Peter Cook  We had a great start last fall with “cottage meetings” as people in the church opened their homes to host gatherings for members and friends of First Church to get acquainted with our new Senior Minister, Peter Cook.  We are now organizing a schedule of late winter and spring cottage meetings and are gathering names of those who want to be invited – and those interested in hosting.  We hope to build a schedule with evening, weekend, afternoon and even a morning gathering or two!  Special thanks to Janet Breen who is helping us pull this together.  Please contact her by email or phone with your contact information and your interest in attending or hosting a cottage meeting: [email protected], 802-598-0670

SMALL GROUP DINNERS. Would you like to meet other members of First Church?  Would you like to do so in a congenial setting?  Would you like to develop endearing and enduring friendships?  If so, the monthly Small Group Dinner Experience is for you.  Sign up during Coffee Hour or call/e-mail the church office ([email protected], 862-5010) to leave your name and contact information.  Coordinators: Mary and Steve Hyde.

As groups are formed, your group’s convener will contact the group to decide to take turns at home cooking or to meet for a meal at a restaurant.  Great food!  Wonderful conversation!  Enjoy the experience!
