August 6 is RACE DAY for our Dragon Boat Team: “Pull Together!”

Sunday August 6 at 10 a.m.:
RACE TIME for “PULL TOGETHER” – Our Dragon Boat Festival Team!
Our Dragon Boat Festival paddling team has been practicing and collecting donations and now they are ready to race on Sunday, August 6th! Our Dragon Boat Team: “Pull Together” is scheduled to have their first race at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning (8/6) at Burlington’s waterfront.  A second race will definitely happen for “Pull Together,” but the precise time will not be announced until Sunday morning. All are invited to come and watch the races!
Rev. Carrie Bail is encouraging folks to come to worship at 8 a.m. on August 6th, and to head down to the waterfront to see our team in their first race!  The 10 a.m. worship service – with communion – will take place but will be somewhat abbreviated.  Childcare for the youngest children will be provided at the 10 a.m. worship service.
Thank you to our Dragon Boat Festival paddlers: Rob Backus, Eric Davis, Kathleen Coonrod, Susan DeClue, Nancy McClellan, Kathryn Farmer,  Cyndy Hall,  Bobbi Holzel,  Mary Hyde, Steve Hyde, Jennifer Jorgenson,  Thea Knight, Pam Meaker, Baki Nelson, Ellen Pine, Kim Sonntag, Doug Viehman, Ann Vivian, Patty Williams, and our Alternates: David Lightbody, Paige Russell, Dave and Mandy Grace!
Many thanks to all who support
our Dragon Boat Team!
Our Dragon Boat Team has raised more than $3000 to cover both their entrance fee and a substantial donation to Vermont’s Camp Ta-Kum-Ta.  Thank you to all who were able to donate!
Doug Viehmann and Thea Knight are leading our Dragon Boat Team and can answer questions about the event; to learn more, please contact Thea or Doug.  Thank you!
