Give With Us

Do More Together

The ministries and missions of First Congregational Church UCC of Burlington rely on the pledges and support of all of our members and friends. Your generosity keeps our community alive. Thank you.

Reasons Our Members Give

Donations sustain vibrant worship services, pastoral care, and educational programs for all ages, fostering spiritual growth and community connection.

They also enable vital mission work, such as providing emergency assistance through
the Joint Urban Ministry Project (JUMP), affordable goods through the Possibility Shop, and support for local and global partners addressing urgent needs.

Every gift helps extend God’s love by maintaining our historic church, enriching lives, and serving those in need with compassion and hope.

We asked our members why they give.
Here is some of what they said:

“I give to the church because I see the difference it makes in the lives of everyone in Burlington and beyond. The outreach programs inspire us to take action, and when we all give a little, the church becomes infinitely stronger.”

“This place spreads joy all around, and it’s where I can bear witness to the extravagant love of Jesus. It’s a community where I feel totally safe to be myself, and my kids are supported by a wonderful group of people.”

“I give because there’s no other place where we can truly belong and be loved through every stage of life. Together, we do in community what we can’t do alone, and that’s a powerful thing.”

Every gift is an act of faith that helps extend God’s love by enriching lives and serving those in need with compassion and hope.

Why should I give?

Giving is an act of faith that demonstrates what we value: solidarity, inclusion, service, and God’s extravagant love. It stretches us from a cycle of spending that simply causes us to crave more, and roots us in the reality of God’s abundance.

You can contribute during Sunday services, mail a check to the church office, donate online through our secure platform, or donate via text or venmo @___.

Yes, our online giving system allows you to establish recurring contributions at intervals that suit you.

Absolutely. We use a secure system to ensure your personal and financial information is protected.

Yes, all donations are acknowledged with a receipt for your records and tax purposes.

A donation is a one-time gift, whereas a pledge is an annual commitment to make a donation toward that year’s operating budget. Knowing pledges will come in allows us to plan for the full year.

There are numerous ways you can give to the church, such as:

  • Gift of an IRA: You designate the church as a beneficiary of your IRA.
  • Gift by will: You name the First Congregational Church of Burlington a beneficiary of assets that you specify (cash, securities or other assets).
  • Gifts that provide you with income and Old South is the beneficiary:
    • Charitable Gift Annuity
    • Pooled Income Fund
    • Charitable Remainder Trust
    • With each of these alternatives, you make an investment that provides monthly income to you. Part of your investment is tax deductible because the church is the beneficiary of the remaining value after your death.

You can manage your recurring donations through your online giving account or by contacting the church office for assistance.
