Explore your faith, ask questions, and gain insights for spiritual discernment. We value belonging over belief. You don’t have to believe any particular doctrine or creed to belong here. That doesn’t mean we aren’t compelled to study, learn, and grow in our faith together. It just means we understand and expect each person’s journey to be a unique reflection of who God created them to be.
We nurture the lives of our littlest ones, fostering their faith through a sense of care and belonging. Our newly revitalized nursery and preschool spaces offer an age-appropriate, engaging environment for infants and toddlers, and preschool-age children cared for by consistent staff and volunteers.
We offer engaging programs for kids and youth from kindergarten through high school, cultivating their spiritual growth and development, and a strong sense of community. Led by trained educators, programming is designed to meet kids where they are developmentally as well as in their faith journey. In addition to Sunday School during the worship service, kids are invited to a variety of family-friendly events throughout the year. Our Youth program is held in partnership with College Street Congregational Church. Youth gather every Wednesday at 6pm for food, games, and discussions, and sit together during worship on Sunday mornings.
Our adult programming is designed to meet you wherever you are on your spiritual journey as you discover, explore, and renew your faith. Two weekly Bible studies (one over Zoom and one in-person at the Church) are open to all. We also offer book groups in tandem with specific sermon series or programs. Small affinity groups gather to explore certain topics or engage in shared activities including a craft group and a contemplation circle.
First Church has a long tradition of activating the passions and values of our youth through service trips. These occur each summer and are open to all youth who actively participate in youth programming throughout the year. Destinations vary. Past trips have included Puerto Rico, Arizona, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Maine, Philadelphia, and Atlanta.
