Ava Bilton
Ava Bilton began her ministry at First Church as Director of Congregational Life in February 2024.
Ava is currently pursuing her Masters of Divinity with Chicago Theological Seminary’s online program. She is a licensed minister for First Church, and Vergennes UCC, and a Member in Discernment through the Vermont Conference of the United Church of Christ (VTCUCC). She recently moved back to Vermont after 4 years in Perth, Western Australia where she moved to be with her Aussie husband, Michael and their rescue dog, Molly.
Before “hearing the call” to ordained ministry, Ava earned a Bachelor of Music at Oklahoma City University, worked as a performer and vocal music teacher, performing arts director, nonprofit communications specialist, and consultant. She is particularly passionate about exploring innovative worship, the feminine Christian tradition, the theology of economics, and the emerging church.
