During the summer, Church School still serves the same age group, but through a multi-age (and flexible) approach—rather like a one-room schoolhouse. Our nursery person still works with the youngest children, but may include children as old as 3 or 4, depending on the children’s abilities, interests, number, and ages of all the children attending that day. In a second classroom, children from about age 5 through grade 8 meet.
We have the summer “Seasons of the Spirit” curriculum available, but the summer Church School Coordinator is at liberty to draw on a variety of resources available in the Church School office. A wide selection of craft projects is also a large part of summer Church School.
