It is with confidence and joy that we announce that Will Gunger will be serving First Church as Office Manager, and both the College Street Church and First Church as our new Youth Ministries Leader. Many of you know Will as he has been worshipping with us and serving First Church as a Deacon and usher for some time and is a frequent participant in faith formation opportunities here.
Will’s professional background includes a variety of interesting administrative roles, community organizing working with a range of volunteers, and teaching positions from preschool to middle and high school classrooms.
Expect to see Will in his Office Manager role later this month – and working with middle and high school youth and their families this fall. Let’s do all we can to support Will as he begins serving our faith community in these two key roles!

Dear First Church Friends –
I have been a member of the First Congregational Church of Burlington since December of 2022. I was born in Syracuse and raised in Manlius, New York in a family that valued education and practiced a progressive faith.
I feel honored to accept the positions of Office Manager at First Church and Youth Ministries Leader for both First Church and College Street Congregational Church. These positions seem curiously well-suited to my work experience, which has been office work, organizing volunteers, and teaching. I look forward to supporting the administrative workings and weekday ministry at First Church. In my teaching career, I have worked most extensively with middle and high school students, and I am very excited that I will be working with this age group again.
I believe strongly in the aims of our Burlington UCC congregations – to create communities centered on faith formation and being good neighbors, just as Jesus taught us. I look forward to working in these roles at First Church and College Street Church!
