We are so pleased that Hilah Clarke has joined the staff at First Congregational Church as Faith Formation Director! She brings much passion, experience, excitement and faith to this new part-time position (August 2019).
The role of “Director of Faith Formation” has been created as part of a re-visioning effort by our Faith Formation Team to structure the staffing of all programs for children and youth in a way that will most effectively serve our families today.
In announcing the appointment earlier this summer, Director of Programs and Development, Ava Bilton said, “Hilah, who has just retired this month from many years as an elementary school teacher and who has served in our Church School as a leader and teacher for many years, will bring much professional experience, interest in the faith lives of children and youth, and a strong faith to this role. We are very fortunate that Hilah is available and look forward to her starting in this new position.”
In conversation with Hilah at Peace Camp in June, she said, “I am looking forward to working with the children and youth of our church – they are our future and our gift from God. See you in August!”
The reorganization within Faith Formation will allow Hilah to provide leadership, coordination and support for staff, volunteers, and participants in organizing for, and managing, church school and faith formation programming. Hilah is gifted in both bringing stories and Bible lessons to life for children and youth and in helping them make connections between faith traditions and real life.
We are blessed to have her working with us!
