Annual Chicken & Biscuit Dinner – Sat, Oct 19

Saturday, October 19, 2013 (5:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.)

We have the reputation for having one of the best harvest suppers in Chittenden County!  Diners love our chicken, biscuits, gravy, coleslaw, squash, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, homemade pies and beverages. Come be a part of a delicious First Church tradition! Take-out dinners may be purchased ahead of time and picked up at 5:00 p.m. Dinner will be served from the buffet table with continuous seating beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Larger groups are encouraged to make reservations to ensure seating.

The cost is the same as last year: $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children 12 and under, and $30.00 for a family of four or more. Tickets are available at the church office, and after services on Sunday.

We welcome and are in need of many volunteers.  Options include: setting up tables and chairs in the dining room, decorating tables, servers, host/hostesses, food preparers, pie cutters and servers, dish washers, and kitchen helpers.  We need volunteers to cook chickens and make pies ahead of time, as well as donations of cabbages, cider, carrots, butter, brown sugar, and cheese. Sign-up sheets will be available near the main office.  Although this is a Women of the Church endeavor, we always appreciate “manpower” as well.  For more information, please contact Jenny Coleman at 862-1972.
